We believe that the best way to protect the world’s forest is to reduce consumption of tree-based products. Technologically, it's difficult to make something similar to these paper bowls from alternative fibers. We are currently researching to see if paper cups and bowls can be made from a mix of alternative fibers, recycled fibers, and responsibly managed wood/paper fibers to create a more sustainable product. In the meantime we carry lines that have improved on the standard paper cup.
Instead of using petroleum based plastics which create toxicity and environmental pollution, you can now use our compostable alternatives.
*Not recommended for high-wattage microwaves.
Q: What is PLA?
A: Polylactic acid or polylactide (PLA) is a biodegradable, thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources, such as corn starch (in the U.S.) or sugarcanes (rest of world). Although PLAhas been known for more than a century, it has only been of commercial interest in recent years, in light of its biodegradability.
